Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is a combination of football scholarship, family work and community involvement. His family's first name is he's the youngest out of nine kids raised in Eufala through Lucious Selmon. He played second in football and was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the most effective lineman in the United States. Lee Roy won two championships, and 31-1-1 during his three years as Oklahoma's starter. In 1975, he was awarded the third scholarship of his career and was recognized as an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Fourth-year service in the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. Following graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa where he spent nine years playing for the Buccaneers. Three times, he was selected All-Pro. Lee Roy began his professional career. In 1988, he was an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's top 10 young men. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch higher and weighing in at the hefty 256 pounds at college when he was player, commanded his team for the year 1975. In 1993, he became the assistant director of Athletics at the University of South Florida. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988 the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
