Lee Roy Selmon has a background that is a combination of family scholarships football and community service. His first family is that Selmon is the eldest of the nine children raised by Eufala by Lucious Selmon. In football, he played with his three brothers from Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey was one of the starters for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the United States by Outland and Lombardi Awards. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. The team also took home 2 national titles. In 1975, he received his third scholarship and was recognized as a National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received his bachelor's diploma in education. Fourth service In the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. Then he settled in Tampa following college. He played with the Buccaneers for nine seasons and played three times in the all-pro league. His career in business began. The year 1988 was the first time he worked as an Account Relation Officer in the First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him one of the nation's top 10 young men. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6-2. While he was in college, he commanded the team of 1975. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as the associate director of sports. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
