Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She began her acting career as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film Piano. In response to an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter of a Scottish musician. Flora McGrath is the child of a mute Scottish musician who came from Scotland to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. As a teenager, she made the move to America. Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance as Jane Eyre in the film when she was only a child. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers as teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) as well as A Walk on the Moon (1999) and played the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa as a character in Almost Famous (2000).
