Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin is a native of New Zealand, born in Wellington however was born and raised in Winnipeg became an actor in The Piano. At age 11 she was one of the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin in full Anna Helene Paquin (born on July 24, 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) Canadian-born New Zealand actress who as youngster earned the Academy Award for best supporting actress for her role as the lively and eager daughter of lead character played by Holly Hunter in the atmospheric romance The Piano film The Piano (1993). Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and was also in a smaller role in Jane Eyre in the film when she was an infant. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) as well as A Walk on the Moon (1999) and played the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
