Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut playing Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making the actress second to win an award within Oscar history. When she answered an open casting call her name was picked in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of an mute Scottish piano player who moves in New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. It was her first role at the age of nine and had no prior experience in acting. At the age of 17, Paquin moved to America. Paquin was the child's title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. Also, she was an important role for the role of the Queen in Fly Away Home, a film from that same year. Paquin was a part-time actress in the TV film of 1997 remake of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad which she was in, she played the Spanish queen with a small part. She also played teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) as well as Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character Polexia Aphrodisa.
