Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Paquin was born in Wellington but born and raised in Winnipeg became an actor with The Piano. At age 11, she became the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin in full Anna Helene Paquin (born on July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) Canadian-born New Zealand actress who as youngster was awarded the Academy Award for best supporting actress in her performance as the inquisitive and lovable daughter of the lead role played by Holly Hunter in the atmospheric romance movie The Piano (1993). As a result of a public audition, at nine she changed her name to Flora McGrath - the daughter of the Scottish muffled pianist during the 19th century. She was able to move from Scotland to New Zealand to marry an unplanned husband. As a teenager her family relocated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin performed the leading role in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part as Jane Eyre when she was an infant. Paquin played a minor role in the 1997 TV movie remake of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in the film, she portrayed the queen of Spain in a minor part. She portrayed teens as teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and portrayed the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
